Maja Design - A beautiful evening

Welcome Maja Friends!

I’m also still creating with our latest amazing 'Celebration' collection. As I saw this elegant dancing pair I thought on our annual SemperOperaball in Dresden. It's a very special and magic event.

'Despite low temperatures, thousands of people will take to the theatre square in front of the Semper Opera House to celebrate the Semper Open Air Ball. While  guests watch the gala programme inside, up to 15,000 partygoers will be singing and dancing outside in front of the opera house. In rain, freezing temperatures or under starlit skies – the Semper Open Air Ball transforms the square into the world's largest dance floor for the locals and guests.'

Therefore I was inspired to make a home decoration piece, it's a cloche in romantic vintage style.

How you can see you will need not so much materials, main thing is the paper sheet 'Ballroom dancing', old music paper, Distress inks and some embellishments how like flowers, lace, feathers and what do you want.

I used as basic a star from a cutting die.  After I cut out the pair, I curved the motif with a knitting needle and folded the feets to glue them on. The paper from Maja Design is so stable that it stands alone, but you can stick to support a few more blooms from behind against it.
Now you just need to stick the decoration on.

I rolled up the notebook paper, distressed the edges and created some paper sticks.

I highlighted some places with Stickles 'Baby Blue' from Ranger.

a wonderful blue feather suitable to the ball gown

... and your new eyecatcher  is ready :-)

Thanks for your visit!

Mixed Up No 9 - Halloween Time

Welcome!

Today I want to share a sneak peek from my latest mixed media project
 for a very cool magazine

Autumn is a wonderful season, because you can see veiled sunrises, the air and sounds are clearer, and everything is a bit more quiet.
It gets darker and more mysterious with shadows lurking around and the fog appearing like fantasy creatures of all kinds.
These thoughts were my inspiration for this mixed media canvas.
When I start a project like this I have never a clear picture in my head,
I like to go with my intuition.

and I have some sneak peeks for you :-)
whole project can you see here
and a big tutorial  :-)

TIM The Frame - Der RAHMEN

Hi friends!

heute mal wieder in deutsch :-)

Happy crafting!

12 Tags of 2016 March

Welcome everyone!

I'm a little bit late this month, april is coming soon,
nature is awaking from hibernation, spring has come!
and so I thought on Rain & Sunshine
and the saying
"April showers bring may flowers"

"April, April der weiß nicht, was er will.
Mal Regen und mal Sonnenschein,
dann hagelt's wieder zwischendrein"

Have a nice easter sunday!

Vintage & Nostalgia

Welcome everyone!
It' s an honour to be invited here and I'm very happy about this !
This month challenge theme Art Journaling with Tim
was really perfect for me , because it's one of my favourite genres !
You can try out colours, techniques, materials and effects. Taking yourself out of the box and
discover yourself and a new world, let the ideas flow to marvel at the end itself, which has been incurred for me to be creative means.

I started by embossing a piece of craft paper, I used the dry embossing technique with the folder Clocks.
The rand was distressed and then glued to the Art Journal Page.

Distress crackle paint picket fence + Distress inkpad Walnut stain + Ink blending tool

pieces of old book pages, white gesso and stencil for the background
the script was printed on linen paper

to work with his beautiful distress inks like black soon, walnut stain and vintage phote together with a little bit water in the mini misters is one of my favourite usages
and indispensable for such old shabby chic projects

I hope you like my little inspiration for this beautiful month theme!
Challenge
crackle and arrow stamps, faux stitching, painted with distress inks

here lives the man in the moon, I don't know if is sweet ;-) but
I love to use the typical grunge industrial style of Tim Holtz

Travel Time

Hi everyone,
today a new Art Journal page suitable on this time,
somehow you get the impression all are on traveling, or ;-)
I would also like too, but it does not always go according to wish.
But in my creative world I can do this as often and as much as I want.

 Journey talk
I used the Cargo Stencil, the symbols stands for whereas,
how far,
how expensive ....

I have used the Monoprint Technique 48 in Tim Holtz's Compendium of Curiosities Vol 3 book
and I think I must used it more often until I'm satisfied with the result.

Challenges:

Linda Coughlin, owner of The Funky Junkie Boutique has generously donated a $25 shopping spree to her  store to the lucky winner of this challenge.

Happy crafting
