I found it adds so much dimension on this layout

Heart & Soul - Ein Herz und eine Seele
in marble effect
firstly a embossing powder 'Hammered Metal' and then some acrylic paints
 diluted with water about that

from our monthly new products line
to a cooking – food – coffee theme

I thought it's a canvas for a kitchen or office
and a cool gift idea.
I love the saying
'Good ideas start with brainstorming,
great ideas with COFFEE'
für mich bedeutet das
 - Kaffee erreicht Stellen, da kommt Motivation niemals hin -

used Scrap FX products

I used this amazing new stencil as background. With white crackle paste on craft paper and some distress paints (shades of brown + black)   the right combination for an altered look.

cup was made with a fine detail copper embossing powder,
I added also a rub on transfer on it,
and a black acrylic paint

wordlet was made with embossing powder Burnt Copper Leaves,
one of my absolutely favourites

this awesome clock hand stamp can be used not only with
ink pads ist also great with fluid acrylic paints

DT Scraps of Darkness - Mermaid Frame

Welcome!

Kerstin here and my third inspiration for our
As I saw this beautiful woman on the 'Old Window' paper from the /gypsies
Architexture collection
I was inspired to use this photo for a new home decor piece.
Somehow I saw in the woman a mermaid
and so I used an old wooden frame
as basic for a FantaSEA :-)
gift.

Firstly I added some structure paste at  few places, then
I covered the entire surface with a chalky finish paint 'Vintage'
from Americana Decor.

Let dry it completely.
I have added a lighthouse and rope stamp to complete a maritime look.
Then I cut out the wordlet - Enjoy today - from the Architexture paper 'Market signs'
and glued it on the frame.

Next I layered up embellishments, have you seen this amazing keys in our kit, wonderful, or?
a leftover from a deco fish net, starfish, shell, gauze
and the Prima flower from our Main Kit together with a little bit
Ice Resin  'Ocean' from our last month kit.

in the upper corner you can see a mermaid die from my stuff
head can be seen at the top
and the fish tail at the bottom

I've glued a few self-collected shells to the photo
so she looks like a real mermaid.

DT CCB Antiques - Tutorial

Welcome!

I saw on my latest fleamarket visit a little, very old drawer. They show many signs of degradation.
Nevertheless I have liked this, because it was a very suitable size for a new(old) shadow box.
I remembered on the new Architexture collection, especially on this beautiful typewriter and I thought, yes that's the perfect combination.

used materials from Tattered Angels
and other companies

Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist Chocolate Brown
 Tattered Angels Baseboard Lava

old drawer
Tim Holtz Vintage Portraits
Americana Decor Creme Wax Brown
Acryl Media Fluid Black
Crackle Glaze
Distress stain walnut
some pins, one chipboard, rub on transfer,
embellishments (clock, glass, little book....)
old book page
decoupage glue

Scissors

 How I do this

I repaired  the backside and gave her a new coat of paint.
I used dark brown wax with a little bit black acrylic paint for the outer sides.

I glued an old bookpage with a decoupage glue.

 cut out your chosen motive

tear 4 stripes and distressed the edges with walnut stain

 glue it on the backfront

I added some spray and splatters for a more time-worn effect

the lettering Antiques is attached only to the outer two ends
now use the pins for fastening cutouts

for another wheathered look
I used a crackle glaze paint together with the two above mentioned Mist sprays

typewriter is self-adhesive, but I wanted this piece as a 3D element,
so I have used a small piece cardboard as a spacer

Then I have added a little wooden chipboard with a rub on transfer
and glued it behind this findings sticker
now it looks like a typed page

now you can added some little embellishments
just as you wish

  Happy weekend!

DT Scraps of Darkness - Ideas Matter

Welcome friends!

My next project with our awesomeScraps of Darkness May Kit 'Attic finds',
I was inspired to make a new (old) shadox box.
Unfortunately I havn't such box in my stuff, but I saw this great background paper 'Upper & Lover' from 7 gypsies in our May Kit 'Attic Finds' and thought it looks like amazing and I will try this.
I took an old canvas and use the backside as wooden frame.
With some acrylic paints (gold, black and brown) and a crackle paste, which I used only on some places I created a frame in altered art.

the new stickers from the Architextures collection are very cool, it's very easy to work with it, you can cut, you can colored and they are self - adhesive
I added three books and the iron gates and not to forget this amazing lamp, she was glued with two chipboards and it's hanging from the frame for a 3D effect

brushes are a chipboard from my stuff, I colored with some acrylic paints
and used a copper embossing powder

yes and such a cool door handle was the perfect addition for my art room frame

I cut out some words from the paper Architextures 'Market signs'
the 'Idea' piece were distressed and wrinkled, it adds more dimension on this altered frame

to complete the look I also added some alphabet tiles from our last month kit
and the wonderful new paper dolls from Tim Holtz
which were a birthday gift
from a very good friend

Thanks for your visit!
Happy crafting!

GD A Vintage Journey - Canvas

Hi everyone!

I was so pleased and honoured to be asked once again
to join you all as a Guest Creative Guide here at
 A Vintage Journey

This month the challenge theme is "Canvas", what a wide field on creative possibilities.
I decided to make a canvas in industrial grunge style.

I created the background with a photo from an old magazine,
some rusty colors, stamps and a brick stencil.
I used some products from DecoArt - Matte Medium, texture paste, fluid acrylics.

the new puffy stickers were a birthday gift and  I immediately had to try out
it was a great fun, because you can cut this pieces very easily
and you can build your own piping system

chipboards were embossed with my favourite powder from Emerald Creek Dares
'Burnt Copper Leaves' I love this mixture black/ copper metallic look

Many thanks for your visit!
Have a nice crafting time!
